A back-to-the-roots analog hypercar, designed by Hardline27 for Nilu27.
The challenge was to design a car with instant visual impact, one that stops passersby in their tracks and demands a physical response before a single number is read. Nilu27 wanted that effect to come from proportion and purity of surface, with nothing on the car that does not belong.

The NILU sketches were never taken to a finished drawing. Each one fixed only the intent: the movement of the car, how its volumes are distributed, the gesture of the face. The work then moved straight into CAD, into NURBS, the mathematical language of surfaces. Several exterior and interior directions were developed this way and presented to Nilu27 before one was chosen. What the sketch left open was found in the surface, by the same hand.
Most lines on a car are not where a surface begins, but where it is cut. Conventional surfacing treats every hard edge as a construction line, and the highlights get dragged toward edges that should never pull on them. On NILU the bodyside is two continuous surfaces, intersecting at the shoulder. Each is given more definition only where the form asks for it and left quiet everywhere else. The flow is built into the surface, not stitched together afterward.
Nilu27 asked for an interior that treats the driver as capable. It was designed around the driver before it was styled. Ergonomic data measured in the real world set the layout, a helmeted mannequin sat in the CAD model from the first day, and two iterations of the physical seating buck tested every assumption. The seats were reworked until the occupants sat as low as the proportions demanded. Every control sits where the hand expects it: no switches on the wheel, instruments placed on the column, and the only screen in the car is the rear-view mirror. The interior was developed with Etienne Salomé.
Upon completion of Hardline27’s commission, a full-scale show car was delivered to Nilu27, with a finished exterior, a fully trimmed interior, functional daytime running lights, taillights, instrument cluster and opening doors.
